What would one do if two gay couples applied for a 2 BR unit and met criteria in an area where local law limits the number of unrelated occupants to three? If they take occupancy, local law is violated. If they are rejected, federal Fair Housing law is violated (familial status, even if borderline).

Please don't reply with 'find another reason'.

Just call your rental a hospice house and call it good! no slandering intended, but a possible solution! I don't think public officials would touch it as far as litigation goes.

Due to licensing issues I doubt that most rental properties would qualify as hospices. I know that in my castles, the only thing dead or dying is the tenants' credit and/or rental history.

Mom taught me that a person can buy anything in the world they want if they're willing to pay for it long enough.

You're on the mark Tim. After re-reading it, that would be my conclusion as well.

Excellent Tim, at least that's what I saw too.
