New to the forum. Very helpfull info found here.
My question is: As far as section 8 goes is there any sort of info out there stating the requirements need by a building to pass its inspectors/regulations.

Try this site to download the guidebook:
www.hud.gov/offices/pih/programs/hcv/forms/guidebook.cfm
Generally speaking, Section 8 is now referred to as the Housing Choice Voucher Program. I personally don't care for Section 8, some call it Suction 8, however, that's not your inquiry.
The guidebook may answer your questions but obviously you can search other data/links within the hud.gov site for a variety of issues.
Have a Great Day!

I'm proud to say that I coined the term "Suction 8" and will stand behind that until I'm permnently horizontal - longer if Hell accepts Suction 8. Heaven knows better. Note that this is based on personal, local experience.

If the truth be told, S-8 can be good if the local administration is good. I formerly accepted S-8 and never, not once, had a bad S-8 tenant. My problem, which is common across the U.S., is with the local administration ot the program. Talk to other local owners for their input about how the program is run locally.

The one thing that they will never get me to agree to is their inspections for lead paint. Though my properties are generally in excellent condition, I'm dealing with someone who is being paid to find lead paint hazards. I'll tell you what. Pay me enough and I'll find anything you want me to find.
