I was awakened at 5:30 AM one day last week by the sound of running water. After making the executive decision that it was real and wasn't going away, I chose to get up and investigate. I found that the bathtub faucet had turned itself on, full tilt, for no apparent reason. It is one that is pulled out and turned left/right for hot/cold. Never happened before or since and, sadly, the place isn't haunted so I can't blame my late mother-in-law.

Could it have been that you may have only pushed it to the barely off position on the last go around and then water pressure itself pushed it back over the edge to fully open (neutral hot and cold position) Just a thought. Dan

".........pushed it to the barely off position on the last go around"

That's possible but, somehow, I don't see it taking several weeks to be forced out by the constant pressure. I'll pay more attention next week as I'll be using it again on the 28th. This is soap month, but that shouldn't make a difference. I sure wish shower day was the 30th so I could skip February.

The graphic representation that is now lodged in my mind isn't pretty. :SM126:
