My story is pretty simple. I work for Washington Mutual Home Loans and I am looking to work with ANYONE that is interested in the advantages WAMU has to offer. My main goal is not to grab a few leads here and there. My intention for this site is to attain solid relationships with realtors, investors, etc. for the long haul. Based on my story do you think this web site can help me?

Sure it can! The best way to start is by telling us a few details about yourself and also giving us a few little insider informational tips, our goal here is to help each other to understand as much as possible about the industry while also passing on referrals and leads to those that have earned them or those who are capable of rendering the help one needs.

Feel free to add some value and everyone here will work to add some clients to your portfolios! Welcome!

Red,

I would love to hear about loan programs for investors both for short term rehab projects and longer term holds.

I deal with Washington Mutual on a wholesale level and they are horrible. My bank has stopped doing business with them and I use to have an account that I closed because they bounced checks when funds were available.

Hey Buddy, not to sink your ship but if you listen to me I can save you a few years of headaches and broke pockets. I can tell from your request that you are new to the industry so I'll extend a helping hand this one time to the competition. :whistling

I am a regular listener to the Tom Martino show (consumer advocate) who has a syndicated show across the US. He is a real estate developer as well as a consumer advocate who goes after the big boys and little boys when consumers ask for help when they feel they have been wronged.

He has told horror stores about WMutual as well as fielding calls from people across the US who have had problems with Washington Mutual.

Tom Martino has a website, Troubleshooter.com.

He is a good guy.

Funny how things seem to work themselves out around here. Experience matters!:SM009:

There was a huge discussion about WaMu sometime back over on GaREIA. Several people on there had nothing but praise re. their investor loans. There were horror stories about personal accounts, but there were a lot of really good stories about investor financing. So, let's not just run the guy off quite yet... :)

My stepdad has some duplexes on colorado financed through Washington Mutual. He has had nothing but good experiences with them, and they even funded his teardown and rebuild of the duplexes into 4-plexes.

Not sure if that helps anybody or not, but I figured I would post it anyways. :)

Just wanted to say that I could always use another good, reputable lender in my book of contacts. I've read the input so far and am keeping myself open to seeing new contacts as good possible business ventures. What one person may do in a company or for a company doesn't always mean that it is true of the entire company. There are always some bad seed anywhere you go but if you look hard enough, you will find the "cream of the crop" as well. Never hurts to welcome someone new in and give them a shot. After all, that's how we all got started, isn't it????? ;)

I'm not sure where you are or where you would be able to conduct your business, but I'm in Illinois and I also have my real estate license which gives me alot more of the bells and whistles that I can add to my activities. So if I can be of help to you, perhaps you'd like to reciprocate by being of help to me. I would welcome the opportunity from you or anyone here as we are, as Dan says, one big happy family and that's what this area is all about.

I'm a broker in Colorado and I have had good experience with WAMU, especially with their stated income programs.

The only issue I've had with them is keeping myself approved with them since I am a small firm and don't send them everything I do.

I have heard just about their (Washington Mutual) horror stories with individual borrowers, nothing about their dealings with investors, etc.

So, maybe I did speak out of line...sorry :frown:

I can tell you from experience, the worst thing about WAMU is that they don't inform their people. I heard the horror stories about them right after my last refinance, and within 2 months my mortgage was sold to them. I had heard they have a habit of losing payments and then never admitting they may have made a mistake. Because of that I have always paid my payment in person at a branch and got a receipt. I had such a good expereince with them I decided to give them a chance, and I opened a personal Checking account. That is when the issues started. I requested overdraft protection, what a mistake. Their idea of overdraft protection is they pay the charge, and then bill you $25 for the trouble. Their computer systems are so bad that you can overdraft at their ATM. I questioned them and asked if there was another program I could use that woudl pay the charge and not bill me $25. They said I needed a platinum account. I got one, and then got nailed again. I moved my account, and on the day I closed the account, they informed me that they had what I wanted, but I had been speaking to the wrong people. Education is power and they lack in that area.
