Hello Dan,
It has come to my attention that a particular Note purchasing company who gives national seminars on the topic is telling their seminar attendees about my website. Their students are approaching sellers who have their FSBO’s listed on my website about purchasing their Mortgage Notes. Should I be pissed off because my sellers will receive spam email from Note Buyers or should I be thankful for the free publicity?

As the old saying goes Greg, "Even bad publicity is good" Their validating your site as a credible source so don't take offense at that. If you're really concerned then create an announcement to get your message across to your visitors regarding what you would like to say regarding these note raiders!

Find out what they offer and present a better one to the sellers!

While I agree with Dan that the referrals give great credibility to your site, those referrals are also cheating you out of potential business.

Here's what I'd consider doing if my attorney agreed that it was worthwhile. Upon learning of a seller using the guru's advice, I'd contact the seller, being very upbeat (while biting my tongue), to congratulate them on their success. I'd pretend to want to learn more about that guru's advice with the intent of getting copies of any and every shred of documentation possible. Every shred would be given to my attorney with a view to a lawsuit.
