I've been landlording for nearly 29 years and I don't miss a day at this site. Why, you ask? Because I rarely leave this site without having learned something. Another great feature is the cameraderie here. It's unlike anything I've seen at any other site.

Folks I have to warn you, if you engage Aldo above with a question your more than likely going to find yourself falling off your chair with tears in your eyes before he's done with you. Just thought you should know that! :xxrotflma

This is one great forum and Dan... It looks like membership is growing :punk:

I visit this forum several times a day and love Aldo's post. We all don't allways agree with each other but that is what keeps the SPARK :SM092:
here.

I wanted a picture of an older man who looks like me. The avatar does except he wears no glasses. Otherwise he looks just like me. This is the best I could fine. Looking forward to seeing the site regularly. Pete

Dan I must say that since I got into REI...all of a week ago...I have basically been hitting every site around and have found not one which can touch Magic Bullets. I cannot wait till I have some experiences to share. I expect that to be within the month.

That's a high compliment Bill! There is a lot to choose from on the net and many sites are jam packed with solid information, I really appreciate the vote and thank everyone here for making the site all that it is, including YOU!

Regardless of accuracy, one's picture does not make that person wise. What makes them wise is the fact that they recognize the value of this site and have chosen to join the family here. I'd say more, but I have to feed the dog for someone a few posts down.

Don’t be sad Dan his leaving was a blessing. If you say you are going to teach or do something then do it. This board needs honest people not people selling them selves.

Real estate investing is not a cheap one-night stand; it's a life long commitment.

Not enough education is being provided so I founded Stealth Educational Services to help investors apply better strategies. http://jmichaelrei.com

Postings are based upon my experience/knowledge and I am not liable for any damages arising out of use.

Real Estate Investor - Author - Seminar Speaker - REI Coach

I would remove his self serving posts, links, and forget he was ever here. So some newbie does not go to his site. If he wants free advertising let him earn it in the forum. I really don’t like him not answering the tax deed question he asked. When we could not get the answer, He wanted the post removed. He could have answered and then taught the rest of us some thing. Instead he tucked tail and left. :SM122:

Just wanted to add my two cents  . Dan, you are one in a million. Those of us who have gotten to know you are truly blessed. Thank you so much for starting this great site. A big thank you also to everyone who plays a part in making Magic Bullets the wealth of knowledge it is!

Thank you for the wonderful contributions you two! Realestate, I have spoken to John over the phone and really don't want to count him out, he is just a very no non-sense kinda guy.

Sometimes undercurrents flow and a little diplomacy needs to come into play, as for a little bit of advertising, I really don't mind it so long as it is not blatently splashed across the post then compounded with no real information of value.

John has a lot to offer and I really would still like to see him become more active.

Regardless, we as individual members working together to support each other and those who drop in for advice are what matters most, I've said it before but will say it again. I'm going to work to build this site (with your help) and the relationships on it for the next 20 years. I'll stay committed to building it for the long haul, so feel free to invest yourself into helping grow something from the ground up.

I thank you again for making it all happen. Dan :praise: :SM128:

Whoa they're Real estate. Let's just take a look at a few things. First the Tax deed post, request to be removed was NOT because the correct answer was not given. There were other reasons, so please don't assume things.

Second the advertising that you don't agree with. The same signature is on almost everyone of the forums he participates in. He has accomplished a great deal and there is nothing wrong with a person advertising that fact. I don't see it as self-serving at all. And EARN the free advertising.... I believe he has indeed done that already. He has helped many people, even to the tune that someone will call, he will coach them through every step of a deal... with out charging a penny !!!!
I believe anyone, newbie or experienced would only benefit from visiting his site, download all the free information and YES, purchase some books.

Let's take it a step further:
You want to buy and sell houses, are you going to accomplish that by:
A. Sitting at home thinking about it, never to pass out a business card, make a call or send out letters?
OR
B. Get out there, pass out cards, post signs, send letters, place door hangers but you don't let those closest to you know what you do.

Would A or B make you successful?

Let's say you do B but tuck all your money in a savings account. Continue to rent the house you live in, never go on a vacation, drive a hooptie that is always cited for being a hazard, never helping others in need? Could of you been more successful? Would you miss out on opportunities?

My point here is, John does have a lot to offer. His posts have meat in them, people learn from what he has to share. John also makes a point in letting everyone know what he does, where they can find information.

Much like as an investor, we will all be more successful and lessen the chance to miss out on an opportunity by letting everyone we come in contact with know what we do. (Bird dogs: cable people, waitress at the restaurant, next door neighbor, co-workers)

If you don't care for his posts, pass by anything that has his name attached to it. You may also miss the opportunity to learn something valuable that could indeed be a golden nugget in your business. That is one of the great things about this forum. There are so many different views that we can all learn from each other. The same way there are a number of other forums that Dan himself refers people to.

We are all in this business together. We rely on each other, teachers, coaches, and friends to help us expand out knowledge. We don't want to become a forum divided that is one of the reasons we all seem to be drawn to Dan's site. We are all helpful, not hateful.
As Dan has said, don't count John out just yet. He is still occasionally posting on threads.

Thats your words, and for the record I don't drive a hooptie and I get to vacation in Kostromo, Russia.

These are your's to, but for your info I live in a area which happens to have a great investors club.

Anyhow the point I'm trying to get across is If you say your going to do some thing just do it, If you say you will teach, then teach. I know there is a post on here that had a list of what JohnMichael was going to teach. Hey looks to me like he realized if you teach it for free, whos going to pay?

Anyway the whole thing from my point is Do "WHAT YOU SAY YOU'ER GOING TO DO" Other wise don't waste my time, other wise any credibility you had with me is gone. I try to be as stand up as possible because your word is all you have, people are going to have to trust you.

Bottom line with me you dont live up to your word I dont care how good you are.

Realestate, I am glad you get to go on vacation and don't drive a hooptie... Those were examples ! As well, I am glad you have a great REI club .... However, there is so much more information and knowledge in the world of creative investing that we can't limit ourselves to just one source. In fact, I read everything on REI that I can get my hands on. I also visit many forums so that I may learn from a wide variety of people. This just happens to be my favorite (or home) forum. Please don't be defensive, no-one is attacking you. Just offering another point of view.

I just don't see how others are wasting your time when it is your choice to read a post or not. As for the reason John didn't post on that subject as he said he would. There were circumstances that he felt strongly about. He is by no means obligated to share those. Again I will reiterate that John does coaching and gives some of his books free. So if you think he posts just for the money, you are sadly mistaken my friend. I have read all of John Michael's books; He has also mentored me as well so indeed I do know for a fact that he is a man of great credibility.

Realestate, I am tossing out a challenge to you now. Why don't you choose a subject, research it and post an educational lesson for us all. This way, we can all benefit from your experience as well.
I have a few posted and I am already working on a few others to add here.

You are entitled to your opinions, as am I. we don't have to agree, in fact we can agree to disagree and call this one a draw.

All right everyone PLAY NICE! Forums are not always easy to manage with many different views coming out from many different mindsets, this is one of the reasons a forum like this is so valuable and to that I may add that, this indeed is what does create the value!

I don't mind entertaining a respectable amount of low key advertising along with an informative post and John in my eyes contributes FAR more than he takes away, koodo's to John!

A good forum it is said should be in the best sense left alone to regulate itself naturally with the majority voice being heard and anyone who is on the edge of the unpopular vote taking the appropriate hint without much else needing to be said.

If the hint isn't taken then you could say a violation of the unspoken rules has been broached, breached or otherwise ignored, at that time they would get their warning from the head office :SM127:.

Try to remember everyone is here by their own accord and attraction to one another so try and understand the next persons viewpoint even if you disagree, if you don't want to view the post just move on to the rest and enjoy the experience.

Hope this cools the fires and keeps everyone on track to building a stronger community through mutual support, understanding and temperence.

We really are just getting started here so lets work together to build something that others will marvel at once they find it in the future! At this time no one is out of line on these boards and I hope to see each of us working jointly together as a T.E.A.M. to make it all that it can be!

T.E.A.M. Together Everyone Achieves More! :SM128: :SM023:

Greetings everyone,

I just now registered here, and wanted to say hello.

In fact, I got an email from John Michael this morning recommending this site as being a good one -- so this thread was a bit interesting.

And he specifically said to say hello to you, Dan.

Anyway, I look forward to learning from everyone and participating where I can.

DAN, WHAT'S THIS ABOUT JOHN MICHAEL ? ?

DAN, WHAT'S THIS ABOUT JOHN MICHAEL ? ?

That was in the beginning when John first was investigating becoming a part of our team here, at one point he hesitated because I think as every smart person does, he weighed the commitment he was on the verge of making and had to think it over.

Again as the smart guy that he is, he made the right choice and decided to take the Magic Bullet Challenge :smiley3: Don't worry Dave, John is solidly entrenched and I believe will be with us for quite some time, I'll nag him to death if he tries to slink away now

So that was old business, now relax Dave and enjoy the ride
