U.S. Army Troops and Civilian Employees associated with the Big Red One -

Housing is very tight right now in the area. If I don't have a home available for you I will help you find one free of charge. I know many of the other LandLords in the area and I can help you reserve a place if you are relocating. I also know of many houses you can buy if you prefer to build equity.

My advice to people relocating to the area would be to start negotiating now. (Now.) Every livable (by my standards) unit is being snapped up within a day or two of being vacant. Saggy floored apartments with cheezy old appliances are still around, but quality family homes like I prefer to offer are scarce. I, and a few others, have end of lease properties become available from time to time but there is a waiting list at the post housing authority that is snapping them up too.

To my knowledge, I am the only property owner in the area that is a MB forum member and supporter. To that end, the only way around the waiting list is knowing someone or using the MB forum to contact me. AGAIN, I will help anyone looking for a home to buy or rent free of charge. All I ask in return is that if you have the chance; refer your friends/family to the MB family forum.

If you haven't noticed yet, we here like to help people accomplish their goals and fulfill their needs. (but we are frothing at the bit to teach people how to make a dollar in REI too) ;)

God bless our troops.

Special thanks to OzarkVU who is working in Germany with our returning Troops. Thanks for supporting our soldiers and thanks for letting me know I may be of service to them.

Mike,
I had a chance meeting with the commanding general on Friday. From this area, only a handful will be actually going to Ft. Riley. Many of the others will come from posts around the country and from other locations here in Germany. You might want to put an ad in the Army Times. Almost everyone reads that publication.

By the way, we had an early introduction to Kansas weather over the weekend. A freak snowfall of about 8-10" hit us on Friday, and the base closed early. Although I'm not in the military, I've learned to say "Hooah" with the best of them. Getting off work early is worth a big HOOAH. :praise:

Congrats on the short day Ed.

An ad would do me no good. I have been full since the first wave came home last year. I picked up one SSGT and the family of a soldier deployed to the gulf. The purpose of my post was to advise people looking for a rental in the Ft. Riley to start looking now as there are waiting lists for the better quality homes.
