Hi all, I am just curious what you choose to put on your business cards...I am beginning to think mine look QUITE sad, and I am kicking around different ideas for future cards.

Get out some business cards you have gathered. Hold them in front of your face for just a second then flat down. What did you see? Can you tell what they did and contact info? Did you have to look at it again?
Leave out the fancy titles ( just makes US feel good)
Make it simple and to the point.

I buy houses, fast cash, fast closing

xx@xxxx.com

Easy to read, gets the point across, they know how to reach you and know what you do.

Do the same for bird dog cards. Currently I hand write the bird dog thing on the back. I do this because THAT is what I have, second, I think it adds a personal touch. I could be wrong.

Only adding a penny here ! :SM134:

Initially I fell into the trap of TOO much info on a card. Heck, it looked more like a stage show :SM075: versus getting to the point. I've always thought that an attractive crisp logo was a needed addition so I eventually developed a logo that I felt caught the eye but was not obtrusive.

Other than that, I used some graphics that tended to illustrate the wording on the card in 3D but not in a neon fashion. The wording remained simple in just two or three short lines: Rental Properties, Seasonal/Long Term, Property Management.
Of course, the applicable phone numbers were included along with an email address.

Lisa, I'd be more than happy to but in todays world I don't use a scanner. Additionally, I develop my cards with Printmaster along w/Paintshop Pro & Xara so uploading would not be in a viewable format. Email of the file wouldn't be conducive for viewing either.

Any suggestions? :SM129:

It's so ironic...I worked in the printing industry for about 2 years, and have seen THOUSANDS of business card designs...I dont remember ONE that was for real estate investing...lately I have been looking at mine, and think they are too VAGUE...they have my name, real estate investor, single family and multi-family, any condition!, address, phone, email....after looking at several samples the last few weeks...I noticed I forgot something essential....I BUY HOUSES!! Sure it says multi-family and single....but what exactly am I doing with them...? :)

remindes me, While writing a resume, and printed it.... I saw some mistakes...I corrected.... another person looked at it, saw a few more... I changed it... a 3rd person saw it.... yet a few more changed. I thought it was perfect ! After sending the darn thing out..... I NOTICED a mis-spelled word.... I takes a 3rd eye, a 4th eye! LOL

We see what we write, we KNOW what we want to say, we see that. It is that extra set of eyes ( even if only in suggestion) that helps us see !

I think my new ones will just say in big block letters...I BUY HOUSES...and then my name and number, any condition-any location-any size, etc...and then on the back list stuff like bankruptcy?divorce?foreclosure?etc...

how's that?

Then when they callyou then ask ? then look at the online info and see of you want to go look.

Depending on the situation. ask for an e-mail, then send them a free download of information that can help them.

Forcloseure- e-mail them a forclosure e-book that you got for free with all their options.

I think there is a form posted here. If not, let me know and I will post one

Did I also say I am also known for leaving cards in ladies bathrooms?

You must have an attention-getting logo or the card will be boring and quickly trashed. Next important is to tell what you do. After that, provide every means possible to contact you even if they all lead to the same voice mail account.

Also consider having several different cards, each relating to a specific aspect of your business and distribute them as appropriate. I currently have 4 different cards, each used for different purposes.

Anyone on a tight budget can print their own cards with readily available cheap or free software. Though I'm not on a tight budget, I print my own cards because I like the ability to change them on a moment's notice, if necessary.

My last cards were pretty cheap...I ordered the "free" business cards from vistaprint.com and only paid approx. $10 for shipping, but they are full color cards and pretty decent. I like the idea of having several different types of business cards, especially in the future, when I have more capital to start investing more in properties to hold and rent.

Anyone use magnetic cards, you can buy the magnetic business cards from office depot for $14.00 and place the cards you have not on the front. Use a roller or something similar to make sure it sticks.

May also be a option in the rest room stalls to place them on the back of the door.

2. Place them on the side of the card with a small sign that says take one.

Just some ideas,

M

How about this!

Dear Seller
Do you own an unwanted house and need to sell fast?

House vacant? Facing Foreclosure?
Need Repairs? Behind on payments?
Divorce? 100% Financed?
Bad Tenants? Estate sale?

These are common problems that can happen to anyone. We buy houses from people in situations just like yours in any area or price range. We specialize in finding creative solutions to your real estate propblems that others won't touch. We can close quickly with no hassles and we will handle all the paperwork.

We are not realtors. We are real estate investors who want to buy your house. Call now to find out how we can solve your problems today!

Rarely do problems just go away. Call now. You'll be surprised at the options you have. Save this card for future use if and when you or a friend may need our assistance. Call, fax or e mail us at blah blah blah

Granted the type size would be much smaller but a bifold card would give you the other side for a bird-dog message as well!
