To clean grout or Remove grout? Usualing when cleaing grout, I just get a bottle of bleach. When removing grout, I use either a grout saw (available at home depot for <$5.00) or use my rotary tool with a grout blade (available at home depot for <$60.00).

If you let us know what's wrong with the grout, perhaps someone can give specific info.

First, try a floor scrubber, (a cylindrical scrubber). If that's not available, you might want to use is a floor buffer with a scrubing pad. The scrubbing pad is like a big round brush. If you've never used a buffer before, start in the middle of a big room to get the hang of it. I'm sure you'll be able to rent a buffer from your local tool rental place.

If bleach didn't work, try glass cleaner (or ammonia), or baking soda (wet the floor first), or hydrogen peroxide. Don't mix bleach with ammonia or baking soda. Don't mix ammonia with baking soda. It's safe to mix peroxide with baking soda.

Anyone ever seen if anyone rents a grout cleaning machine? I tried HomeDepot and no go. Monday I will call around. Just wondering if its possible to rent these or if I must resort to paying 45 cents a sq ft.

Judd,

You may want to try Muriatic Acid.

What Brian said. Muratic acid, I think it is 5:1 ratio water/acid. Do not leave on too long. Have fresh water available to clean and neutralize the acid. Make sure all available window and doors are open, and a fan for ventalation. Wear gloves.

It is not supposed to harm the tiles and I believe the ratio is 10:1. The interwebs is your friend. Do some reasearch on cleaning grout and you will find all the information you need.
