Call me ignorant, call me dumb, but I just DO NOT KNOW. Do real estate agents charge upfront for their listing services, or only after the home sell in the form of their commission?

Agents get paid their commission out of the closing proceeds so they have to sell something all the way to close before they see a dime! They do charge upfront fee's for certain services like a CMA Comparative Market Analysis if say someone just wanted that and nothing more.
Often they will do them for free hoping to get the listing but crafty agents will not let the consumer have it, if they don't get the listing. :mat:

Thanks Dan! I figured that was the way they worked, but wanted to double check.
