Just trying to drum up some local chat. Anyone looking to network in Ohio, send me a PM or email, or reply here.
I'm obviously not from OH, but, if I had to choose a state to live in, OH would top my list. I especially like Columbus. The OREIA convention is creeping up on us and I'd register in a heartbeat if I knew I could meet some fambly members there.
Any takers?

I'm just 2 hours North of Columbus. The convention looks great from what I've seen advertised. Lets see if there are any other interested parties. It could be fun if some fambly members went.
Since you're in OH, I can't even imagine a reason for missing this. The OREIA convention is the largest in the country and is defintely a "dont' miss" event, especially for Ohio investors. Attendance is usually in the 1200-1400 range. I attended 7 of the last 8 OREIA conventions and each was well worth every inch of my 450 mile drive. Being 2 hours from Columbus, you should seriously consider attending all or selected parts of the convention even if you're the only fambly member there. You can get specific more info at www.oreia.com.
P.S. No, I don't work for them.

Wouldn't it be awesome to have a motor-home and a laptop to just travel to all the real estate investors meetings across the country, think of the information, contacts and networking potentials of such an excursion.

Oh, I'm definitely going Aldo. Too many speakers and topics to miss. And as you said the networking is second to none. Imagine going to all the REIA meetings in your state in one day!
And actually, if you don't take the special all day seminars, it's only $99 for one person and $20 for a partner to go. You get to hear like 30 speakers on all kinds of subjects REI. For an extra $50 you can attend a banquet with a special speaker and network even more. If you have a youngster up to 22, they have a special intro class for them as well, and it's free.
It's definitely a not miss event if you are close enough to attend.

Right on, I was just through columbus 2 -3 weeks ago....
What area of CRE are u trying to learn?
Mtatz, you, of all people, need to attend the OREIA convention armed with a really thick notepad. There's more info there than anyone could possibly remember.
Tommy, you can listen to the banquet speaker for just $25. Simply send me a check for $25 and I'll tell you how to do it. Sorry, I just remembered that you're a MB fambly member which qualifies you for the 100% discount. If interested, PM or email me for info. Non-MB fambly members needn't waste their time looking for this freebie.

Too cool Aldo, will do. And hey there HisBiz and mtatz! Wow HisBiz looks aweful busy there, that's a huge area. What do you do in particular? Or is it many things? And welcome mtatz. I saw you in the chat last night. Great place to be if you are new or about to begin an investing career. This site is awesome!
I mostly wholesale deals right now as I'm starting over. I was full time in NY...that's another story, but now I'm part time in Ohio working my way back to full time. Just bought a 3/1 to rehab, so I'm getting there slowly.
Lets do some networking HisBiz, and get our new friend mtatz on the road as well.

Lets see.. RE that im interested in.. Maybe LL and holding properties long term. I have certainly considered looking into rehab and flipping houses, but that would be if I had the time to actually rehab them. I enjoy seeing the end result of my efforts. I also want to build my house some day, if I get the opportunity. I guess I really want learn as much as I can.. I think the more I know, the better off I will be in general.
I had been thinking about going to the OREIA but I don't think I'll be able to make it this year, which is unfortunate. I'm sure it would be a great learning experience!
TommyOH, we should talk sometime. See what kind of wholesale opportunities are around Columbus.

Count me in mtatz. I'm always up for good conversation. I don't know alot about Columbus as I am still relatively new to Ohio, but I'm sure there are many wholesale opportunities there.
