View Full Version : It was so COOL!

This morning, Nancy (MI) and I had our QuickBook meeting where Nancy was teaching me how to use the QuickBooks. It was soooo COOL!
I used the QuickBooks Pro 2007 in which I watch Nancy use my mouse (via G2M) while I listened to her (via Skypes). It's so much like she was sitting right next to me. I really liked that.
I had absolutely no fear of Nancy seeing my QB Pro 2007 (didn't have info anyway). But she had me skip some pertinent information where she would not see (ie ss#, FEIN, etc).
The only frustration was my CPU! I had done defragmentation, cleaning disks, etc four days ago and yet this morning, you'd think my pc would cooperate. Nope, it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow! I felt so bad wasting Nancy's time. But Nancy's a classy lady-she was very gracious!
I highly recommend Nancy if you have any QB questions. According to my CPA, she was surprised that Nancy's rate is well below than what you would've had to pay elsewhere. My CPA is thrilled that I'll be using QB and if any QB question(s), take advantage of Nancy's rate this coming early 2007 as I prepare for tax purposes.

Thanks Debbie for the kind remarks. It was fun and is something that I would like to do full time.
Thanks again and am looking forward to our next class.

Dan, I'm sorry but several other students have beat you to the PRICE...I mean Punch! I don't know how it happened but I have been getting orders right and left from people needing my service. Has to be word of mouth and from my web site. But I still want to make it clear to those volunteers, that my word is my bond and I will continue to teach "ya all" until you are comfortable soloing.
One reminder though. I am only proficient in landlording, Property Management, LLC's and Sole Proprietorships. I can do Corporations and Partnerships but the student would have to contact their CPA to get the low down on their Tax Line Information.
Hey Dan! You're getting a GYM? Wow...so not only will you be smart, handsome and wealthy and wise, but you're going to look like ARNOLD too!
Whooeeee, ya gotta love this forum! LOL

Not trying to toot my own horn but I passed your link on to someone from REIPLACE.com as well. Not sure if they contacted you.
When someone does contact you, you should try and find out how they found you. That way you will know if your web site is generating the business or some other mechanism.
Just my thoughts....

I have no doubt that there are folks who are unsure about allowing a stranger (Nancy, in this case) to have any kind of access to their computer, more especially any software containing business/personal financial info. I've had the pleasure of knowing Nancy for a few years and, please, beleive me when I say that, at any time, I would trust her to hold my wallet if the need arose.
Personally, I don't use QB, but I know people that do and I've referred them to Nancy. I took some flak for that because I did that at a general meeting (about 95 attendees) of a 1300 member landlords' ass'n. The referral, by itself, wasn't the problem. The problem was that I'm a board member of that ass'n which relies on the income from sales of a locally produced financial software title. Aldo thinks to himself, "Sorry, Mr President and felllow board members, I say what I believe and I believe Nancy's stuff is better than our stuff."
I have no way of knowing whether my promo helped, but I gave it a shot.
Happily, I know I'm not one of those stinkers because I took my October shower last week and this is 'soap month'.

Aldo is a Stinker...Aldo is a Stinker...LOL Yep you are even though you had a shower. I had figured something like that Aldo and thank you for your effort! And I'm sorry I put you on the SPOT! (you know what I mean)
I realize that the thought of letting someone IN YOUR COMPUTER is VERY FRIGHTENING and tell you the truth I wouldn't do it, however I learned about this program because I had to let a Technician into my Computer several months ago regarding QuickBooks.
However, one does not have to let me into THEIR COMPUTER, they can learn on MY COMPUTER. The very first screen a student sees is MY COMPUTER when they enter the meeting. I talk with them a little while, asking them questions, getting them to know me, the sound of my voice, and my mannerisms before asking if they would like to learn on my computer or theirs. So far no one has not allowed me to see theirs and as we really get into the topics, we change from my computer to theirs and back and forth.
I also thought I wouldn't get a lot of responses due to the seriousness of letting someone in on their computer, but I have found out that a lot of BUSINESSES are the ones that are hiring me to set them up, more than the normal Landlord. I think Businesses see me as a Business and that I am Certified and they desperately need my help.
But..thank you again all of you little STINKERS...thank you thank you thank you :SM093: :praise: :SM081:
