I have a couple of properties under lease option, and they are both in my name. I am planning to file articles of incorporation next month and wonder...Should I assign my contract to my corporation so that I will be protected "just in case"? Also, when assigning them, would I only assign the contract between the seller and myself? Would that cover my L/O agreement between myself and MY T/B? Or do I have to assign BOTH contracts?
Thank you!
Ryan
Before answering your question I'd need to know why you feel it is necessary to form an entity. If not for personal, financial reasons, my castles would be in my name.

I have heard from many sources that forming a corporation offers better protection (for me) in the case of a lawsuit. So that the person who is suing can not go after my personal possessions, home, etc...
Again, these are things I have only heard and read, and have yet to consult with an attorney about the legal end of this. Or for that matter, an accountant for the tax benefits end...
