To the best of my knowledge, it's not against the law.
To be honest, everytime I receive post cards and flyers, I automatically throw them away without looking at them.
Which explains why I "never" find a bill from the village water department (they send card). Luckily the due date is almost always the same hence I'm never late.....
That Answers That Question.

(in TX) I know that cold calling is illegal. And if they send a direct mail to the address with the home owners name and everything on it, Illegal. And you can send a flyer so long as its not a targeted mailing. If you understand that.
I learned this from a fellow friend who is a designer concrete contractor.
Every state has different laws.

Illegal to send direct mail? Sorry but I need to see a legit source before I believe this.

Zach,
Are you sure about this? I am a TX resident and lived in TX for 4 years prior to my assignment in HI. I received cold calls all the time (telemarketing). Maybe something changed while I was gone but my brother still lives here and he hasn't heard this is illegal either.

for sure Burke 100%. I worked for the contractor at this time when I was instructed about this to. Was also a car salesman and the same thing. Illegal in tx for any company to cold call a person and pitch them a sale. I am not saying it doesnt happen. It does. Just saying most companies to avoid the hassle of a client making a lawsuit for a cold call or possible cold call harrassment case, they just instruct you that it is illegal and you could lose your job over it.
I am 100% positive unless in the last year something has changed.

But yes Tim is the man and he knows about 4 lifetimes more than me about REI. So with that said Gabe it would best serve you to listen to the season vets.
Tim I bow to you :praise:

take a look at newspaper inserts. Contatct some local newspapers and see what the can do for you
yeah that is a good question, why? i think i would have to take on the mind set of a seller. like what would i want to hear. i've seen those sign,"i will buy your house for cas any condition" that weeds out the sellers that might be more likly to act on my offer of sign this contract, take this deposit and i will give you the rest by such and such date. i kind of glaze thru it there but that would kind of be the why. you know i sit in my big thinking chair with my coffee and come up with this stuff(even if it was not my idea because i hear or read it somewhere before HAHAHAHAHAHAHA)
