I WON! I WON! the judge threw out all of his countersuits and I won ALL BY MYSELF! I got the security deposit PLUS damages! So to those who said hire an attorney....I JUST BEAT ONE IN COURT! Justice has truly been served! Thanks for your advice. Nothing better than beating a "know it all lawyer" that lied his way through this whole process. I put the little punk in his place!

That is the beauty of small claims courts that folks can represent themselves.

congrads!

A judgement is the first step. In most states he has 30 days to appeal. If he takes it to Superior or State Ct, you may have to hire a lawyer.

Collection can be a litle harder. If he works at a law firm a garnishment will do the trick. If he is self employeed it may be a little tougher.

Go talk to the clerk of the court you are in they often are helpful.

He has ten days to appeal. I am afraid he may just do that. He is a small town lawyer though dealing with a small community. I am wondering if he wants that much negative attention drawn to him? After all, The bailiff did tell me to serve him personally today in front of one of his clients. I didn't like doing that, but the bailiff told to "get in there and serve him" I think they all may be sick of the situation. I also had to send the judgment to his wife certified mail. The trial was extensive. It was a three hour trial where I had to cross examine his witnesses, etc.... It was intimidating for a little guy that has NO legal background. The judge KINDA led me on what to say or at least it seemed liked it. The Bailiff talked to me for like fifteen minutes today telling me what I did wrong, how to better do it next time, etc... Also said that I did well for going up against an attorney. Very nice guy! Thanks for the comments. It's ALMOST over......Nine days and counting.........

Oh, by the way, he only owes me $152.41 after the security deposit was taken off of $695.00. So it isn't that much but hey....I STILL WON!
