Does anyone know what's the going rate for finishing a basement per sqft? I thought about doing it myself as a DIY project, but lately I got busy at work and I am exploring options to hire experienced and licensed general contractors for the home project

Where are you located? You can try to post your project in the new project bidding website called projectground.com. (http://www.projectground.com/) You can post a project and receive bids from local contractors. Try it to see if you can find a carpenter for your area from there. Good luck!
