Don't discount the most obvious resources. They are the most obvious because they are typically proven producers. Many many people look for rentals in the newspapers.
Put yourself in the mindset the "shoes " so to speak of your target group. If you personnaly wanted to rent a house or an appartment where is the first place you would start looking, write it down. Now where else would you go, again, write it down. Newspapers, lawn signs and the MLS listing are great places to start. Many areas have realtors that will list the property for rent and even for sale for a flat fee. local real estate clubs are a great place to find thes people.
