i'm thinking of buying a course. i need to learn more about preforeclosure and sub 2 deals. i don't have thousands of dollars to spend on a course. but i don't mind spending a couple of hundred. i don't want to waste my hard earned money. any suggestions from people who actually have bought specific courses. or anybody want to sell a used course for a discount?

Kimesha, biker Jim here has offered to give everyone at Magic Bullets a great discount on his subject 2 course and I can tell you Kimesha, he explains it very well. Plus he comes here often to answer all your questions, I feel his course is worth your time. The bonus on this is if you feel it wasn't worth it, I back up Jim's offer with a 100% refund. Get hold of Jim and get his course. That is my recommendation.

John Michael also has a multitude of great courses and of course I back up his materials with the same guarantee so go spend a few bucks on education today and do not fear! :)

This is what I like about this forum. There really is a personal side here that isn't as evident on a few other sites. I can't speak from much experience, but I feel there is so much hype and stuff being pushed, that it would be very easy to spend a lot of money and not really get what you need.

The fact that you, Dan, as the owner of the forum, vouch for the materials speaks volumes to me.

I like the idea of purchasing materials that are worth it. :SM110:

And folks are also sharing so freely their experience and great ideas.

Thanks for the vote of confidence goodlife. I like you, was and am sick and tired of seeing people get ripped off, taken advantage of and disregarded as being not worth someones time.

To heck with all those folks, we will build this community to be exactly the opposite and run them all out on a rail! :SM134:

speaking of...some how i ran across a website that listed GURUS TO AVOID. it was said that there was alot of complaints of their courses. on the list from what i can remember was ron legrand, carlton sheets, russ whitney and about 50+. of course this site was trying to push thier own 2000$ course. go figure!

Kimesha, it was probably www.johntreed.com if I'm guessing right? I'm going to get Franko back on here to tell us his thoughts on Ron Legrand.

There are a lot of good courses out there. There are a lot of courses that, uhm, aren't so good.

The thing to remember is not one course has ever made an investor one red cent. It has always what they did with the course afterwards that made the difference. Deeds not words.

No matter what course you buy you are still going to have to "fill in the blanks" with an education in the streets.

dan,
i just came from that website of "the bad gurus". this was not the site i was on. the site i was on just gave a list with no details but this guy really has it in for russ. it looks as if he has dedicated his life to investigating every bad thing russ has ever done in his life!

I am with you, Brother Dan.

But, then, you know that already. :SM105:

John T. Reed has been accused by some as being self-serving...bashing other books and courses to promote his own.

Personally, I like his Guru reviews.

Another place to find reviews is the Notes Lounge at papersourceonline.com

They recently changed their board format and archived a bunch of discussions, but if this link works it should take you to some info about LeGrand, Whitney and others.

http://www.bulletinboards.com/message.cfm?comcode=5045&xx

There are some real horror stories there and some obvious shills singing their praises as well.

Oh, and I think you will find Jim's Sub2 course to be top-notch. :SM023:

Also, Cash Flow Generator with a bonus. Tapes and Fast Cash Quick-Turn Real Estate Book $31.00 plus $10.00 shipping.

Both in very good condition and are a good read for a beginner.

I was using them as an introduction to Real Estate Investing. The material is very useful where property values are low.

"Biker Jim" is on this forum very often. He goes by Jim FL. He has a website called www.REmentors.com. Check this forum often and you won't miss him.

Try http://www.rementors.com/contact-us.shtml to contact Jim or cut to the chase and visit http://www.rementors.com/real-estate-investing-courses.shtml for the full course package or http://www.rementors.com/real-estate-investing-courses-stand-alone.shtml for his Sub2 course.

Hello,

I will not take John Reed too seriously. His reviews are not 100% right, although he made some good points.

He attack people like Ron Legrand who has probably created and inspirated more millionaires in real estate than anybody I know. Some of john reviews are right, but in general, I would never base my decisions in his recommendations.

I agree with you George. John is a watchdog but often tends to go off the deep-end. He does offer insights into the gurus at large and gives us all a little more to think about. :smiley7: But he is not the end all authority.

Hello all,

My name is Mike and this is my first posting here at magic bullets, in fact I think it’s the first time I have every posted on a internet forum. I am not (yet) a real estate investor but I have very high hopes and ambition to become one in the near future. I have looked at many different courses and I have decided to go with Biker Jim’s here in the near future. I think I am bias, I like Jim, I like Dan (and your book) and I am trying to get access to John Michaels site to, the reason I like these people is they sincerely seem to be trying to help, and they are real people and give there personal attention to each person. They also offer there expertise on this wonderful forum for free.

I am sorry this post doesn’t really relate to the original question but it was time to make my first post! I should have posted here a long time ago and this post is just a start but I had to just post one, maybe soon another,,,,

Once I buy and receive Jims course I will most definitely post a critic on it on this web site (although it might be bias being as he has emailed me directly and I feel a bit special about that). I know courses are not everything and I agree with Pasquini, a course can only be as effective as you. You must get off the bench, as I am trying to do right now!

What an honor Mike! Anytime someone comes off the bench and says that this is there first time posting to ANY board that puts wind in my sails brother!

That says we have and are making a difference in communication and getting information into the hands of those who want and need it.

Your family crest says your moving to Florida, well what part would that be? I hope to see you down there and am really glad your off the bench and on the field.

Biker Jim and Big John are wise choices as your first reads! Dan

Your web site is great, I have been telling everyone about it, along with your book. I have run into some doubts from people but most of these people only understand what they have been brought up to understand, and it seems to me that they believe the only way to make it is to work for other people. I don’t want to work for others, I work a big other, I am in the USAF stationed in England (I think my profile says).

I will be moving (PCSing) to Fort Walton Beach Florida (Hurlburt Field) in August after 3 months of training in Biloxi Mississippi. The two are only a few hours apart so I think I can still work the field (Hurburt Field that is) while in Mississippi, that is what I am planning anyway.

What part of Florida are you moving to Dan, and I would love to meet you!

Sounds good Mike. We will be in Inverness, which is considered the waistband of Florida as it is the thinnest part of the state, 100 miles across at the center of the state. We'll be 30 miles inland from the west coast. This is about an hour and fifteen minutes due north of Tampa as well.

Private message me here when you get back stateside!
