I have heard a few years ago that the government donates millions upon millions a year in the form of grants; one in particular is called Building Grants. There was a Building Grant awarded to a citizen. Over a million dollars were spent to find out this valuable information. Is there any website that I can scan through to see all the grants? I am really looking for that. Please help.

Yes, there are genuine grants such as city grants, county grants, state grants, federal grants. Any other "grants" are suspicious.

Do be aware that they are not easy to get. Plus, lots and lots and lots of red tape involved.

I learned that I can "easily" qualify on the basis of being a woman, small businesswoman and (grrrrrrr!!!!) a "handicap". Let's just say that I have too much pride to take any grant. Not to mention that I've done very well without getting any grants, thank you very much.

Majority of RE investors do not bother with grants due to reasons mentioned above.

I do not have any specific links. I would suggest that you google state and federal grants.

Curious, is the building grant is the only thing you're looking for? Or, is there other type of grant(s) you're looking for. Perhaps, someone here can advise you better.

Good luck.

There are a wide variety of grant and down payment assistance programs. You can check with local government for various County or State programs. Many offer below market interest rates and may be forgiven after a specific number of years occupancy. You can also look into down payment assistance programs through your mortgage lender.
